Rasika Duggal is playing the lead role in the web series Mirzapur. The actress, who plays Beena Tripathi in the show, claimed that the series boasts of a loyal fan base. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the third season of the crime drama, which is slated to release later this year.

Directed by Gurmeet Singh and produced by Excel Entertainment, the crime drama enjoys a massive following among the youth. Its third season is scheduled to premiere on the streamer soon.

Dougal, who plays Beena Tripathi in the show, said she is happy to be a part of the popular series. “It’s great to have the adoration and fan following of Mirzapur, it’s so wonderful in my life, the loyalty is so strong for the show. I am very happy that we have finished the third season and the audience will be able to watch it soon. I’m very excited for them,” he said PTI in the interview.

Rasika may play the unpredictable Beena Tripathi, but the actress said Gudu Bhaiya, the gun-toting gangster essayed by Ali Fazal, was her favorite character. “I love what Ali has done with Guddu Bhaiya. It’s such a lovely part that I would (even) love to play it,” said the 39-year-old actor.

“I believe Mirzapur has a following because people are actually invested in the characters. It’s not about the stupidity of the show. It’s about people’s connection to this character, and we’ve done that before, and we’ve done that every season. We have done it to the best of our ability this season as well,” he added.
