Sony’s Tom Hardy movie gets title, raises release date
“Venom: Let there be carnage.”

The latest installment in the Tom Hardy-led Columbia Pictures franchise Poison The franchise now has an official title and back release date.
Director Kelly Marcel Venom: The Last Dance Sony announced on Tuesday that the film hits theaters on October 25. Starring Hardy, Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor, the film was untitled and runs two weeks from its previous release date of November 8.
In addition to directing the film, Marcille also wrote the screenplay, and the story is credited to herself and Hardy. Hardy, Marcel, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker serve as producers.
Hardy returns as the 2018 Marvel antagonist directed by Ruben Fleischer. Poison. Andy Serkis has taken over directing duties on the 2021 follow-up Venom: Let there be carnage. Marcille makes her directorial debut after earning writing credits on both of her previous films.
This will now be the third Poison The film is scheduled to hit theaters in October, and the pre-Halloween space has worked well for the franchise. The first film has grossed over $850 million worldwide, while the sequel has grossed over $500 million worldwide.
Hardy took to Instagram in November to announce that the film, billed as the final film in the series, had resumed production after taking a break due to the actors’ strike last year. The project was initially scheduled to launch in June 2024 but was later moved to November due to work stoppages.
In his November post, Hardy referred to the film as “The Last Dance” and added that the work “doesn’t seem that hard when you love what you’re doing and when you know you have great material and support from all sides, a great team.”
Venom: The Last Dance is the latest title in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. This comes after Sony released… Madame Webwhich stars Dakota Johnson and Sidney Sweeney, has underperformed since it hit theaters last month.
