June Squibb Sundance Comedy Thelma Lands in Magnolia – The Hollywood Reporter

Magnolia Pictures has acquired North American rights to June Squibb’s comedy Thelma, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. A wide theatrical release is planned.

Josh Margolin directed the film that follows a 93-year-old grandmother (Squibb) who is tricked by a phone scammer posing as her grandson (Fred Hechinger) and embarks on a treacherous mission through Los Angeles, accompanied by an elderly friend.
