Star batsman Virat Kohli is a man of the moment. On Sunday, he reached his 49th ODI century, equaling his ODI century, against South Africa in the 2023 World Cup at Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens.

Kohli’s stunning knock sent the entire country into a celebratory mood. The Indian film industry also took to social media to congratulate Kohli on his achievement.

Kartik Aaryan called Kohli ‘GOAT’ in his Instagram story.

“Goat. Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday,” he wrote.

Varun Dhawan celebrated the moment with his dog and posted it on Instagram.

Actor Arjun Rampal also praised Kohli’s brilliant performance.

Rampal wrote on Instagram, “Virat Kohli, you are beautiful, happy birthday. You are worthy of this achievement and more. All the best for the semi-finals and finals. #happybirthdayviratkohli #legend #goat.” he wrote on Instagram.

Vicky Kaushal also supported Kohli.

Vicky posted, “35 years 49 years old. Happy birthday Virat Kohli.”

Ayushmann Khurrana shared an old photo with Kohli with a heartwarming caption.

Suniel Shetty praised the cricketer’s achievements through a tweet.

Actor Saiyami Kher also praised Kohli.

Actor Venkatesh Daggubati described Kohli’s knock as “pure class and skill”.

Kohli’s wife Anushka also cheered for him.

Anushka wrote on Instagram, “A present to myself on my birthday,” along with a picture of Kohli during the match.

Kohli started the innings in characteristically free fashion, going for shots and taking loose balls from the South African pacer. However, the tempo slowed down when the South African spinners came on.

Kohli has already scored a ton of goals in this Cricket World Cup.

He scored an unbeaten 103 off 97 balls against Bangladesh in Pune, leading India to a seven-wicket win and winning the Player of the Match award. He came close to scoring one point against New Zealand in Dharamsala, but then fell five points short.

He then scored a brilliant 88 against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, but fell before he could clear the line. But it didn’t take long for him to match this landmark, achieving his feat at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

Three Indians top the list of top makers of the century in ODI cricket, with Rohit Sharma (31) next to Tendulkar and Kohli. In men’s cricket, nine players have scored over 2500 in this format.
