“I have heard that perhaps a film on Article 370 will be released this week. I am sure your ‘Jai Jai Kaal’ (cheers) will reverberate throughout the country,” PM Modi said at Maulana Azad Theater in central Jammu. Speaking at a rally at the stadium, he said:

The Prime Minister’s remarks, made during his second visit to the Jammu region since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, coincided with the impending release of the film later this week.

Although the prime minister admitted that he was not familiar with the details of the film, he emphasized the potential of such productions in providing accurate insight to the public. PM Modi added, “I don’t know what the film is about, but yesterday I heard on TV that a film on Article 370 will be made. Well, it will help the people get the right information.”

According to the directors, the film aims to highlight the “pain and struggle” experienced in the Kashmir Valley. A recently released teaser provides a preview of the region’s depiction of ‘chaos’.

The teaser begins with picturesque snow-capped mountains and the idyllic beauty of Kashmir, but quickly moves to scenes of burning streets, riots, and bloodshed.

The actress, who is married to Kashmiri Pandit Aditya Dhar, emerges as the quintessential Bollywood hero, not only fighting militancy but also challenging higher authorities who exploit the state with corruption.

“Terrorism is a business in Kashmir. It has nothing to do with Azadi, everything to do with money,” she said, blaming local politicians and bureaucrats for conflicts in the region. He continues to do what the party says.

The film is scheduled to release on February 23, 2024 and is part of Yami’s diverse filmography which includes ‘OMG 2’, ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’, ‘Badlapur’ and ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. will be added to.

In the past, Bollywood portrayed Kashmir as an idyllic getaway with its natural beauty and romantic charm, downplaying the harsh realities faced by the local population, but that trend has recently changed.

Bollywood currently depicts Kashmir as a battleground. That this depiction has not evolved is evidenced by the rush by Bollywood filmmakers to register titles to commemorate the abrogation of Article 370.

Films like Shikhara, The Kashmir Files, which focused on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, have faced criticism for defaming Muslims, adding to a disturbing trend of biased narratives against Kashmiris in Bollywood. The situation is likely to worsen in the future. With input from PTI
