AR Rahman revealed that when he first saw Ajay Devgn’s film ‘Maidan’, he was unsure whether to take up the project or not.

Maidan, starring Ajay Devgn and Priyamani, is scheduled to hit theaters on April 10. Not only the teaser of the sports drama garnered positive response from the viewers, but AR Rahman’s song ‘Mirza’ also became popular. The music mogul recently revealed that when he saw ‘Maidaan’ for the first time, he had second thoughts about working on the film. Rahman also revealed that the film helped him understand how people interpret things. He even praised ‘Maidan’ director Amit Ravindanath Sharma’s flawless work.

In an interview with Connect FM Canada, Rahman said: “When I first saw Maidan, there was no CGI. My question was, why make this movie? I’ve already done sports movies, so what’s new in it?” I mean, when I watched it again, I realized there was a lot more that could be done, bringing out the humanity, romance, and strong female characters.”

Furthermore, he added: Therefore, how you accept it is very important. It’s very similar to how you perceive life. Now we have finished the song. And we finished it with the amazing Amit Sharma, who is very particular about every little frame and sound. He devoted four years of his life to this film. ”

Produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Amit Ravindanath Sharma, ‘Maidan’ is a biographical sports drama starring Ajay Devgn, Priyamani and Gajraj Rao. The film tells the story of Syed Abdul Rahim, a pioneering Indian football coach who revolutionized the sport in India from 1952 to his 1962 period.
