Actor Vijay Varma recalled an incident when he was dropped from a film because an astrologer didn’t like his pictures. Speaking to News18, Vijay spoke about how veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah inspired him to focus on acting. Vijay talks about getting kicked out of the film

Vijay said, “Once I heard that I was selected for the part and then they asked me to send some pictures. Who asked me, I will not name. After that I was dropped from the film and I think the reason was that the jyotish (astrologer) didn’t like my pictures. He didn’t like the prospect of my casting. The astrologer didn’t believe me.”

Vijay shares Nasiruddin Shah’s advice

He also spoke about Naseeruddin Shah and said, “I will never lose sight or hope. I think Nasser (Nasiruddin Shah) sahab told us when we were students, he said, if you want to be an actor but you also have plan B, then just take plan B, because if you want to be an actor, you have to go through a lot of hard times. It may not be easy for you.” So I was willing to just have it one way and wait until my time came.”

Vijay has featured in several films and web series in his decade-long career. He gained recognition with Pink (2016) and then Gully Boy (2019). He has also acted in films like Ghost Stories, Baaghi 3, Hurdang, Darlings and Lust Stories 2. He has been seen in web series including A Suitable Boy, She, Mirzapur and Dahaad.

He was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaan Jaan. It also featured Kareena Kapoor and Jaydeep Ahlawat. He will soon be seen in Homi Adajania’s The Killing of Mubarak and the much-awaited Mirzapur 3.

Vijay’s relationship with Tamana

Apart from his films, Vijay is also making headlines for his relationship with Tamannaah Bhatia. Rumors of their relationship started after a video of them allegedly kissing from New Year 2023 went viral. The actors were seen together in Lust Stories 2.

After months of speculation that the actors were dating, Tamannaah confirmed her relationship with Vijay in an interview with Film Companion in June this year. Since then, they often comment on each other’s social media posts and make public appearances together.
