The makers of Tamil web series Suzhal: The Vortex have confirmed its second season

The Tamil film industry has been booming for the past few years. With the advent of the OTT field, new filmmakers and artists are gaining a lot of recognition for their content. One such popular series that flourished in the OTT world was Suzhal: The Vortex. The crime investigation thriller is produced by Pushkar-Gayatri and stars Kathir, Aishwarya Rajesh, R Parthibani and Niveditaa Satish. After successfully winning the hearts of the audience with its first season in 2022, the makers of the show recently announced its second season on Prime Video’s 2024 India web series releases.

Tamil series Suzhal: The Vortex has been renewed for a second season, becoming one of the few Tamil web series to achieve this feat. The renewal of the show brought excitement to fans not only in Tamil Nadu but across the country as the series became an instant hit when it was released on Prime Video. Prime Video confirmed the second season in a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying it will feature the same cast along with some new names like Manjima Mohan, Monisha Bless and Samyukta Viswanathan.

The OTT platform wrote: “Small town, big crime. When a senior activist lawyer, Chelapa, who defended Nandini, is found murdered, Sakarai is called in to help the family. Set against the backdrop of the massive Ashtakaal festival in the small town of Kaalipattanam, the case unravels past affairs that cast a large shadow over the present.”

Sujhal season 2 is produced under the banner of Wallwatcher Films and directed by Brahmma and Sarjun. The creators have not yet announced the release date of the project. Fans of the show are eagerly waiting for its release.
