Heramand: Manisha Koirala Writes Appreciation Letter on Her ‘Second Life’ Doing Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Web Series

As Manisha Koirala’s upcoming web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar nears its release, the veteran actress took to Instagram to share a message of gratitude, along with a series of pictures depicting the people and moments she is thankful for. Manisha, a cancer survivor, thanks God for a second chance at life.

Manisha Koirala posted a thank you note on Instagram with a series of pictures and an emotional letter. The first picture of the post shows him with Heramand co-stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal. After that there is a picture in which he is seen riding a bicycle on a road surrounded by trees on both sides. She also posted photos of happy moments with her family, pets and friends. One of the pictures shows her reading her favorite book and the other she is gardening. One of the pictures also shows him having a spiritual discussion with a monk.

Manisha Koirala on the highs and lows of her life

Talking about overcoming the highs and lows of her life, she wrote: “I have a lot to be thankful for in life… a career that has seen many high moments, important roles, great directors and friendships. The test of time… and by the grace of God, I second Life has been given to me after my battle with cancer. I have also seen life’s lowest depths and taken many wrong steps. Life has been a good teacher with all its highs and lows and now I understand more keenly the value of time.”

Yesterday was exciting and traumatic, but today is calm and peaceful. The best phase of my life… My days are about spending time with my aging parents, exploring Nepal’s nature trails, tending to my beautiful garden, taking care of my children, following my spiritual practice, and maybe doing. One movie at a time.”

Manisha Koirala on making Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heramand

Talking about wanting to work only with people she respects, Manisha mentioned Heramand and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. “I no longer want all the best movies or city life. I chose to work only with people whose work I respect, and that’s why when I got the call from SLB, I knew it was worth leaving my quiet world for a while. .” he wrote.

Further talking about the upcoming web series and teaming up with SLB after the 1996 film Khamoshi, he said, “Heera Mandii has been enriched on many levels… Working with SLB again after Khamoshi. He was so talented from day one and how he has grown, As a filmmaker… but his eye for detail and broader vision retain the same rigor.”

Manisha also expressed her joy at working with Heramand’s colleagues and wrote, “It was also a joy to experience working with so many young, beautiful and talented women. Each of them felt calm. Pull each other down. No fighting over lines, space or angles. Or because of the better costumes and hair. They all played solid roles in their films and earned the confidence to stand their ground.”

More about Heramand

Heramand is an upcoming historical drama series co-directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mitakshara Kumar. Through this project, the creators tried to highlight the life of courtesans in the red light district of Heramand, Lahore, during the Indian independence movement against the British Raj back in the 1940s.
