New food is coming to a trio of Disney World’s best bars and lounges

[ad_1]

Three of the best hidden gem restaurants across Walt Disney World are introducing new drinks, dishes and desserts. The bars and lounges at Wilderness Lodge, Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs Resort all have updated menus. In this post, we’ll give you a sneak peek at the food and share our thoughts on the changes.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’re probably familiar with these “secret spots” because we often talk about them. Probably too much considering it’s out of the way location for the average tourist. People who don’t read it regularly may not even know it exists.

Either way, Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. New items will be available at Banana Cabana starting October 11, 2023. Here’s the latest information available that day at all three of his dining spots at WDW…

Starting at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you’ll find Geyser Point Bar & Grill, surrounded by a pool and waterfront. The iconic bison burger thankfully remains on the menu and should continue to enjoy a position near the top of our lists Best Hamburgers in Walt Disney World. (However, I think further tasting is needed to confirm that. Twist your arm!)

In addition to the meat-based bison burger, the culinary team has created additional plates to the lineup, including three new plant-based snacks. We start with a new addition to the carnivore menu: Crispy Peking Ribs. This dish is tossed with a delicious Peking sauce with cashew nuts. If chicken wings are more your thing, Geyser Chicken Wings are now available in two new flavors: Thai His Chili or Sriracha His Buffalo, in addition to the standard Teriyaki.

The charcuterie flatbread is topped with salami, brisket, chorizo, bacon, and smoked Gouda beer cheese. The new Turkey BLT Sandwich is no ordinary BLT. It combines house-smoked black pepper turkey, candied bacon, and avocado puree. Usually I’m skeptical of either addition. Flatbreads can be overdone and result in uneven topping coverage. But considering both toppings, it seems worth the time, money, stomach space, and even the opportunity cost of giving up my favorite bison burger.

Of course, I won’t be able to judge until I actually try these dishes, but it would be nice to see Geyser Point’s menu change and perhaps expand. On top of this, there is room for improvement here and I hope this will be a deeper menu with more must-try dishes. I’m optimistic!

Geyser Point also has new drinks on the menu. The Pineapple Mule has returned from a temporary sale during Black History Month and will be permanently sold at Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey, Hella Cocktail Company Ginger Bitters, pineapple juice, ginger beer, and mint combine for a refreshing and delicious drink.

Guest Experience Manager Mauro Santiago Marcos and Megan Reinhardt created this cocktail centered around Uncle Nearest Whiskey in honor of Nathan ‘Nearest’ Green, the first Black Master Distiller. In addition to Geyser Point Bar & Grill, Pineapple Mule will be added to his 40+ bars and lounges at Disney Resort hotels.

As mentioned above, there are also three new plant-based products. Macaroni and “cheese” bites are “cheese” bites that combine tomatoes and green peppers. The vegetable burger with “cheese” is another option, topped with spicy coleslaw, pepper jack “cheese,” lettuce, and tomato. The last dish is tofu mixed grain salad. It’s a combination of mixed greens, wild rice, bell pepper, and sesame vinaigrette. Depending on your preference, you can also add chicken, steak, salmon, etc. (I think that’s better.)

Look, I’m not trying to hate…but even in the idealized stock photo version, that veggie burger looks like an abomination. I know I don’t speak for the plant-based community, but haven’t we collectively “got over” this kind of thing? We eat a plant-based diet. But if you’re eating something meat-free, you want to know that it’s actually healthy. I would choose a multigrain salad that I knew would be absolutely okay over a Frankenstein-style burger or some horrible dish that had no meat, tasted bad, and was loaded with chemicals and other nonsense. Masu. But I digress.

Next, head to Three Bridges Bar and Grill in Villa del Lago in the middle of Lake Dorado. This outdoor spot at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is a fan favorite, and for good reason. In the coming days, this location will be adding many mouth-watering delicious dishes to its flavorful selection.

First up is Korean fried chicken bao buns. Combine lime mayonnaise, sweet and spicy gochujang sauce, pickled kimchi, and daikon radish. Another new starter is tamarind soy-marinated pork ribs with scallions, pickled Fresno peppers and cilantro. Whether you’re a fan of ceviche or just looking to try it, Ceviche His Classico is the perfect dish to satisfy your taste buds. Contains delicious Kona amberjack, sweet potato, cancha, red onion, chili, and leche de tigre.

For a refreshing salad, try the Villa del Lago Wedge Salad. Combine baby iceberg lettuce, chorizo, blue cheese, and marinated tomatoes, then drizzle with avocado dressing. You can also serve it with grilled shrimp or grilled chicken if you want some extra protein.

It’s appetizer time! Few things are better than a taco, and the new Pork Carnitas Tacos are no exception. These are served with his three sauces: chipotle pineapple salsa, tomatillo salsa verde, and salsa borracha, and served with cotija cheese and pickled vegetables along with black beans and rice. Chicken Mole Poblano is a sweet corn and Oaxacan cheese tamale, rich mole poblano sauce, and radishes.

If you’re in the mood for a burger, the Three Bridges Signature Burger is for you. This is no ordinary burger. It’s topped with bacon marmalade, sun-dried tomato jam, smoked gouda queso, crunchy vegetables, arugula, and served with smoked paprika fries.

Rounding out the new entrees is Mahi Mahi and Grilled Shrimp Plancha. Expertly combined with basmati rice, bok choy, Thai red coconut curry sauce and mint. Don’t worry, popular plant-based snacks like guacamole, roasted corn dip, and tofu-filled “poke” bowls aren’t going anywhere.

Let’s move on to dessert. Warm churros are still on the menu, but now feature three of his sauces: tequila caramel, spiced chocolate, and mango chamoy. Another sweet treat of his is coconut flan with passion fruit sauce, mango and hibiscus. You may have seen this dish before on the Women’s History Month menu, but now it has a permanent home at Three Bridges Bar and Grill in Villa del Lago.

“Cold Brew Old Fashioned” is a product that will satisfy both cold brew fans and old fashioned fans. It combines Cervaley Chocolate Rum, Tia Maria Coffee Liqueur, Joffrey’s Mexican Femenino Cold Brew, and Hella Cocktail Company Orange Bitters. If you’re looking for red wine with a twist, Tinto de Verano offers Red Wine, Combi Crème de Mur, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, and Sprite. This refreshing cocktail is traditionally served in Spain during the summer. A non-alcoholic tropical beverage, Tropical Coconut Cooler is a refreshing blend of coconut, orange, pineapple, and lime juice with a salt rim.

While I’m cautiously optimistic about the new menu at Geyser Point, I’m cautiously pessimistic about the changes at Three Bridges. In fact, my philosophy on this is more or less “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” It would be great if we could add all of this without removing anything. That would be great. But it’s a lot to ask of an already overworked kitchen, so I highly doubt that’s the case. Don’t get me wrong. I think this is great. I just hope we don’t lose the highlights of the current menu. Or if you do, all of this has to be “worth it.”

Finally, head to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, where Banana Cabana has added new dishes to the menu. Pair the store’s delicious refreshing drinks with delicious snacks like the new Banana Cabana Burger. This dish is served with Caribbean BBQ, tomatillo jalapeño cream cheese, pineapple salsa with plantain crunch, and fries. (Okay, I’m happy with this menu update!)

If you love wings, you’re in luck because Grilled Wings now includes two new sauce flavors, Lamb BBQ and Guava Buffalo, in addition to the delicious Jamaican Jerk. These three of his options have been designed by our talented culinary team to be mild (lamb barbecue), medium (guava buffalo) and hot (jamaican jerk) island style. No matter which sauce you choose, your wings will be topped with carrots and a delicious cilantro-lime crema.

Seafood lovers have two new menu items to try poolside. Seafood fritters with passion fruit aioli and coconut shrimp with citrus chili sauce and fries. The island vibe gets even better on Fridays and Saturdays when a live steel drum band plays at Banana Cabana.

This is likely to be an improvement. In other words, Look at that hamburger. This is a masterpiece. Perhaps it’s wishful thinking, but my hope is that this will spark a “bargain renaissance” at Caribbean Beach Resort, with new options at Centertown Market and Spyglass Grill. I still mourn the loss of the chorizo burger at the latter. It’s going to take your new Little Mermaid room to the next level.

Although this menu update doesn’t mention Walt Disney World, the real highlight of Banana Cabana’s “menu” is simply ordering from Sebastian’s Bistro. For a long time, this was hit or miss, depending on how much the server liked you and how crowded the bar was. But now, Sebastian’s bistro cuisine is actually featured on the menu at his cabana, Banana.

My strong recommendation here is the Caribbean pull-apart roll with pineapple coconut bread pudding and jerk chicken (salad or sandwich, your choice). Of course, the best option is to just eat. Sebastian’s Bistroone of the most underrated restaurants in Walt Disney World.
