The seven-episode web show marks the directorial debut of Praveen Chandran.

It’s hard to make people laugh for two and a half hours in a movie. Now, imagine the difficulty with a web series of more than four hours. But the debutant director proved his mettle with a Malayalam web show.

“We weren’t telling any strong stories Perilore Premier League. Also, the characters didn’t have much emotion. Humor was the only highlight of our web series. Therefore, we tried not to include comedy in the story. It was a huge task and I’m glad we did it,” Praveen Chandran told South first.

The story revolves around the protagonist Malavika played by Nikhila Vimal.

When asked why he chose Nikhila Vimal as the leading lady, the director replied, “Nikhila’s Malavika has her own fantasies. But he is a mature person. The character also has humor. Being a seasoned actor, I knew Nikhila could pull off the role,” said Praveen.

It is surprising that he did not watch his previous works.

Before the shoot, he told Nikhila that her character doesn’t need to be handsome, but just as quirky as senior actress Urvashi.

Praveen Chandran noted that all the female characters played important roles in the web series.

“Apart from them, the character of Vijayaraghavan’s Pithambaran is interesting. His persuasive power is the highlight of the web show. He has been in touch with me to know about his character,” he explained.

The director revealed that he had planned a dance step for a particular scene for Ashokan’s character Keman Soman and also gave him a cue from the film. But Ashokan wanted to perform it in his own style and it elevated the stage.

As for Sunny Wayne’s Sreekuttan, the director said he wanted the actor to use the Valluvanad dialect initially as he had to impress old men and young girls while looking for a bride. “Sunny Wayne is my friend and has a good sense of humor. I had a feeling that he would remove the hero.”

Praveen added, “The people living in the fictional village of Perilore live in their comfort zone. In addition, they have different characteristics. If you watch the web show carefully, you will get answers to why they are so lazy. “
