Diljit is very popular with a strong fan following and is known for his live shows on stage. He was also among the few Indian celebrities who performed at Coachella 2023. Several celebrities including Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan, Vijay Varma, Tamannaah, Maniesh Paul and others attended the concert.

The film takes an in-depth look at the life and legacy of legendary Punjabi artist Amar Singh Chamkila, with Diljit portraying the role of the singer and Parineeti Chopra as his wife, Amarjot.
Talking about the making of Amar Singh Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali had earlier said in an interview, “Stories of young musicians challenging society’s norms, seeing unprecedented success and then pursuing violent goals are unfortunately a worldwide phenomenon. The life and times of Chamkila raised important questions for society, but ultimately it is a celebration of the life of an artist, the story of a musician who could never give up his first love – music.”
