The Broken News Season 2 (2022) is back. The trailer of Sonali Bendre, Jaydeep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaonkar starrer was released recently. The Broken News 2 in its second part delves much deeper into yellow journalism, TRP battles, politics and crime. Shriya Pilagaonkar seeks revenge from Jaideep Ahlawati

Shriya aka Radha Bhargava is framed as a terrorist and goes to jail in the first season of The Broken News. However, the sequel shows Radha’s revenge against Diapankar Sanyal as well as Jaydeep Ahlawati. The trailer starts with Radha telling Amena Qureshi, played by Sonali, about a scoop that will destroy Deepankar’s career. Amena tries to convince Radha to understand the real purpose of journalism and not deviate from it. However, both Radha and Deepankar have moved into the competitive battle of the newsroom, where they are willing to go to any lengths. While Radha tries to gain political support, Deepankar plans to kill her.

Broken News 2 trailer shows war for TRPs

The two-minute, twenty-six-second trailer shows the media’s involvement in government destabilization. It also raises concerns that journalists are fighting each other out of personal enmity rather than seeking truth and justice. The Vinay Vaikul directorial shows the nexus between politicians and the media that can influence the future of elections. The conflict between Awaaz Bharti’s idealistic editor Ameena and TRP-hungry Deepankar, who heads Josh24X7, will also turn darker in the new season.

Indranail Sengupta, Taarukh Raina, Faisal Rashid and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya reprise their roles in The Broken News 2. Akshay Oberoi, Geetika Vidya Ohliani and Suchitra Pillai among others are new additions to the cast. The Breaking News 2 will start streaming on ZEE5 from May 3.

Jaydeep Ahlawat was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s crime mystery-thriller Jaanejaan starring Kareena Kapoor and Vijay Varma in pivotal roles.
