The Duchess of Sussex says she is thrilled about her return to Hollywood

The Duchess of Sussex said she was “delighted” to be returning to the entertainment industry with her and husband Prince Harry’s production company.

Former Suits actress Meghan hit the red carpet at Variety’s Power of Women event in Los Angeles on Thursday night, celebrating the achievements of women in entertainment.

Meghan, who wore an off-the-shoulder camel dress with a spotted bun, said she was “really proud” of the projects Archewell Productions has created so far, including the Harry & Meghan docuseries – while also teasing future projects.

Meghan told Variety on the red carpet that she wanted to create “things that make people feel” as well as creating a “sense of community.”

“We have a lot of exciting things on the menu,” she said.

“I can’t wait until we can announce it, but I’m really proud of what we’re creating. My husband loves it too and it’s really fun.”

The 42-year-old actress appeared alongside famous faces including Billie Eilish, Margot Robbie and Carey Mulligan at the star-studded event on Thursday.

“I think the more we support each other, it amplifies the business, it amplifies our community, and I’m thrilled to be back in it and to be able to sit in this room and be in good company tonight,” she said.

Meghan’s arrival comes after the launch of the final series of Netflix’s The Crown, which focuses on the death of her mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales.

It also comes after royal author Omid Scobie made allegations about her husband, the Duke of Sussex, ahead of the publication of his new book Endgame.

This year’s winners of The Power of Women award include British actress Mulligan, who chose an off-the-shoulder black dress with a short haircut, and American singer-songwriter Eilish, who wore a black hairstyle with dyed red roots, paired with short hair. Black jacket and matching head veil set.

British actress Emily Blunt, who wore a sparkling white number with feather sleeves, received the Alumnae Power Award at the event “for her dedication to helping children overcome stuttering through educational resources.”

“It is a disability that often lives in the shadows alongside its great friends – fear, shame and humiliation,” Blunt said during her speech.

“…Stuttering is like someone forcing you to live in your body and never paying rent.”

Meanwhile, Barbie star Robbie, who wore an off-the-shoulder black dress with a classic red lip, took home the Producer of the Year award alongside husband Tom Ackerley and producer Josie McNamara for their production company LuckyChap Entertainment.

“I don’t have a big voice at the moment but we really believe in people with original ideas and original voices, people like Emerald (Vinnell) with Saltburn and Greta (Gerwig) with Barbie,” Robbie said on the red carpet.

“They’re both such visionary directors with such original voices, and they had such an original vision for the story they wanted to tell, and committing to that on the surface side of it can seem scary, but when you do it, amazing things happen.”

Flowers Of The Killer Moon star Lily Gladstone was also honored during the event, along with American singer Fantasia Barrino – who was excited to see Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio in the audience as she gave her speech.

DiCaprio took to the stage to present Gladstone with her award for Indigenous Women’s Rights Advocacy: “I very much hope that we will enter a new era in which actors like Lily, who embody this undeniable authenticity and truth to their character,” she said. Storytelling takes center stage.

“Because Lily is not just an actress, she is also an activist.”

The ceremony also saw Eilish, who was very emotional when she took to the stage to accept her award, perform her hit song What Was I Made For? Along with her brother, Finneas O’Connell.
