Robert De Niro improvised his famous “Are you talking to me?” segment. A line from Martin Scorsese taxi driverthe outlet shared this week.

In the film, De Niro’s character, Travis Bickle, imagines a confrontation in the mirror when he asks: “Are you talking to me?” you talkin to me? you talkin to me? So who the hell are you talking to? you talkin to me? Well I’m the only one here. Who the hell do you think you’re talking to?

Scorsese recalled his experience filming the now-famous moment during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Thursday. He said: “It was not in the text, but it came from it.”
