Ridley Scott to direct Bee Gees movie for Paramount – The Hollywood Reporter

Ridley Scott fills out his dance card. The director is in talks to direct an untitled film centered around the music group The Bee Gees. Hollywood Reporter He confirmed it.

Scott, who was last in theaters with Napoleon, is producing alongside Graham King for GK Films and Stacey Snider and Michael Pruss for Scott Free. Scott Gladiator Writer John Logan will write the script. Scott is currently working on Gladiator 2 For Paramount.

British-Australian trio The Bee Gees became one of the best-selling music acts of all time, rising to fame in the 1960s and 1970s. The Gibb brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice were behind such hits as “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart,” “Too Much Heaven,” “Nights on Broadway,” and “Stay Alive.”

Barry Gibb, the only surviving brother, will produce the film. Paramount is distributing, with Amblin and Sisters co-financing. A number of filmmakers have attempted the project over the years, with Lorene Scafaria boarding in late December 2022 following John Carney’s exit.

This move comes with the launch of Paramount Bob Marley: One Love In theaters this week. Despite poor reviews, it received a CinemaScore score from audiences and posted a strong Valentine’s Day gross.
