Hollywood filmmaker Zack Snyder has finished making superhero movies

Director Zack Snyder, who made films like “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” is happy to focus on other topics amid the decline in popularity of superhero movies.

“If my foray into superheroes starts with Watchmen and ends with Justice League, that clearly represents that era for me,” Snyder told i. “You could use those two films as the end of what I consider to be the pinnacle of weird commercial shows.”

“Where we are now, I don’t know. And by the way, there might be another giant hit, who knows? For me, I came out of those movies quite naturally.

The director said he always had a desire to break the traditional rules of superheroes, according to aceshowbiz.com.

“There’s a set of rules about what characters can and can’t do,” the Rebel Moon filmmaker said. “These comic books say, ‘Well, we’re slaves to canon. Why?’ “This is iconic destruction.”

He continued: “They were hoping for something Marvel-like: ‘We have superheroes.’ Why don’t they do what these guys do? Why are they so dark? Why are they fighting with each other? What do we do?’ These are the types of conversations.

“The first clue was when we were trying to get a PG-13 rating. I said, ‘Well, what’s not to like? What should we do?’ And they said, ‘They don’t like the idea of Batman and Superman fighting.’ And I said, ‘Well, I don’t know what to say! This is the movie!’
