Hollywood elite ignore heartbreaking sports movie about conservative wrestling family

The Academy Awards have decided to exclude one of the year’s most iconic and inspiring sports films from the 2024 nominations, announced Tuesday.

“Iron Claw” is the true story of brothers Kevin and Kerry Von Erich, two of the biggest names in wrestling history. Stars Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White took on the lead roles, and the film was produced by A24 (Hollywood’s favorite studio), so it’s a little odd that the Oscars decided not to nominate it at all for the 2024 awards.

From the trailer alone, it’s clear that this movie is more than just a wrestling movie. My roof was leaking, and then the pipes froze, so I couldn’t get out and see the movie in person. But my colleague John Loftus, who has great taste in entertainment, kindly shared his review with us:

“The Iron Claw will go down as one of the best sports movies of the decade. I had no expectations going into the movie, and left the theater completely gone. It’s a beautiful, unsettling movie, the kind of movie where you hear gasps throughout the entire show because everyone is so moved.” “With tears. The acting was also top notch. Zac Efron has come a long way since his days in High School Musical.”

We all knew the Ozempic sluts running Hollywood would never let a pro-American, conservative-leaning true story win an Oscar. But not to have something so amazing? This seems punitive and petty, just like everyone in Hollywood!

When will Efron’s punishment stop? This golden boy was once the showbiz industry’s go-to guy. He has taken on many intense roles in the past decade, none of which have received the recognition Efron deserves for his raw acting talent. Maybe we’ll see Efron appear on Taylor Sheridan’s show in the coming years. Or maybe he’ll return to romantic comedies when he becomes a silver fox, and have a whole new career revival. Whatever the case, Efron isn’t going anywhere, no matter what mainstream Hollywood thinks.
