Gary Oldman Says His Performance in ‘Harry Potter’ Was ‘Average’ – The Hollywood Reporter

Gary Oldman is opening up about why he judged his past performances so harshly, including his portrayal of Sirius Black in the film. Harry Potter Commercial franchise.
In the last episode of Happy sad confused Podcast, the actor told host Josh Horowitz about playing the Framed Wizard: “I think I’m humble about my job at it.”
Oldman suggested that he might have portrayed Sirius Black differently or better if he had any idea what was coming next in future JK Rowling books, as did his star Alan Rickman, who played Professor Snape.
“Maybe if I had read the books like Alan, or been ahead of the curve, or known what was coming, I honestly think I would have played it differently.” Bram Stoker’s Dracula The actor explained.
But his role in Harry Potter Films are not the only performances he criticized. Oldman admitted that it is difficult for him not to find faults in his work.
“I’ll tell you what it is,” he said. “It’s like anything else, I think if you sat down and watched myself in something and said, ‘Oh my God, I’m amazing,’ it would be a very sad day, because you want to make the next thing better.”
Oldman continued, “It’s a very personal thing. It’s a personal thing that you look at that other people don’t see. … I don’t mean to disrespect someone who says to me, ‘Oh, I really like you in this movie,’ and I’m thinking, ‘I’m terrible in this ‘The movie.’ What are they talking about or what are they talking about?’ It’s not that. It’s (that) they see something else.
The actor made his debut as Sirius Black in 2004 Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He then reprized the role for two more sequels before his character was killed off in 2007 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Elsewhere in the interview with Horowitz, Oldman also quipped that he was killed too soon, saying, “I’m still upset about that.”
“We (the actors) were all betting, ‘You know, it’s Hagrid,’ and I was there, ‘No, no, no, maybe it’s Ron,'” he added. “Then you open the script and go, ‘It’s me. I’m out of here.’

“When I was 42, I woke up, you know, and I was divorced, and I got custody of these boys,” he said at the time. “That in itself… that was difficult because there was a shift in the industry where there were a lot of productions… in Hungary, Budapest, Prague, Australia, you know, all these places. So I turned down a lot of work.”
The actor continued: “Praise be to God Harry Potter. I’m telling you, both… Batman And Harry Potter – They really saved me, because it meant I could do the least amount of work for the most money and then go home with the kids.
