Do you ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? “Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome has no choice but to team up to take Roman down.

In the Warner Bros. Pictures film, Margot Robbie (“I, Tonya”) returns as Harley Quinn, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“10 Cloverfield Lane,” TV’s “Fargo”) as Huntress; Jurnee Smollett-Bell (HBO’s “True Blood”) as Black Canary; Rosie Perez (“Fearless,” “Pitch Perfect 2”) as Renee Montoya; Chris Messina (“Argo,” TV’s “Sharp Objects”) as Victor Zsasz; and Ewan McGregor (upcoming “Doctor Sleep,” the “Trainspotting” films) as Roman Sionis. Newcomer Ella Jay Basco also stars as Cassandra “Cass” Cain in her feature film debut. Directed by Cathy Yan (“Dead Pigs”) from a script by Christina Hodson (“Bumblebee”), the film is based on characters from DC.

Robbie also produced, alongside Bryan Unkeless and Sue Kroll. The film’s executive producers are Walter Hamada, Galen Vaisman, Geoff Johns, Hans Ritter, and David Ayer. What Is The Birds Of Prey Release Date?

Release
Birds of Prey is currently scheduled for release on February 7, 2020. It follows DCEU movie releases Aquaman (December 21, 2018) and Shazam! (April 5, 2019) and precedes Wonder Woman 1984 (June 5, 2020). Birds of Prey was previously set to open on Valentine’s Day 2020, but it was moved back one week, so it wouldn’t conflict with Bond 25, which was opening that February 14 but moved itself to April 2020 anyway.

Birds of Prey Marketing

Birds of Prey Marketing began on January 21, 2019, when a first-look production video of the characters and costumes titled “See You Soon”, was released by Warner Bros. via YouTube. DC Comics published a promotional trade paperback anthology featuring stories based on the film on November 12, 2019. The first teaser debuted exclusively in theatres on September 5, 2019, in front of screenings for It: Chapter Two, with Quinn stating that she is “over clowns” while popping a red balloon, in a collective reference to It / Pennywise the Dancing Clown and the Joker.

A short teaser was released on the film’s social media pages, announcing the first official trailer would be released on October 1, 2019. A series of posters, which also announced the trailer debut, was released the same day.[64] On December 5, 2019, Birds of Prey held a panel at the annual CCXP in Brazil. They showed the first 5 minutes of the film and the second official trailer, which was released online on January 9, 2020.

What Is The Birds Of Prey Rating?

Birds of Prey is currently confirmed to be rated R. That’s in line with what Margot Robbie wanted when she pitched the idea of “an R-rated girl gang film.” She wanted her Harley Quinn to be part of it, but not have it be a solo film. If this R rating holds, it will be the DCEU’s first R-rated release. Robbie’s Harley first appeared in Suicide Squad, but that film had the usual PG-13 rating for DCEU films. This will be an edgy departure, following the successes of other R-rated comic book films like Fox’s Deadpool and Logan.
