Anthony Daniels sells Star Wars C-3PO memorabilia – The Hollywood Reporter

Anthony Daniels, the British actor who plays C-3PO in star Wars He is set to sell his personal collection of costumes, props and scripts from the franchise.

The BBC reported on Thursday that Daniels is working with UK auctioneer Propstore to offer star Wars Souvenirs. The set includes the iconic gold C-3PO helmet that the actor wore in the 1970s New hopeWith an estimated selling price of $1.22 million.

In all, there are approximately 200 lots up for auction. Other highlights include the scripts Daniels used during production – such as his hand-annotated dubbing scripts The Empire strikes back -And even parts of the Millennium Falcon.

“I rescued those pieces of the Millennium Falcon from the fire in the back of Elstree Studios after production wrapped on Return of the JediDaniels told the BBC.

“It seems like the time has come,” the 77-year-old said, explaining why his collection is now being sold. “I realize I have these items and they’re not unloved but not looked at – we’re not letting them clutter up the living room.”

Daniels also revealed that he had the opportunity to add to his repertoire after production wrapped in 2019 The Rise of Skywalkerwhere he was told that he could take the items from the collection, but he turned down the opportunity because he already had “enough” memorabilia.

The Propstore auction ends Sunday, and items from Daniels’ personal collection are expected to go on sale Saturday.
