Adam Sandler comedy sequel in the works, Starr says

Happy Gilmore Star Christopher Macdonald is hoping the Adam Sandler-led sports comedy will see a follow-up.

MacDonald, who played villain Shooter MacGuffin in Dennis Dugan’s 1996 Universal film, said during a Friday appearance on the Audacy radio show. 92.3 The Fan That Sandler recently showed him a draft of the script for Happy Gilmore sequel.

Back in 2015, Hollywood Reporter Requested Happy Gilmore Director Dugan has asked whether Sandler might agree to make a sequel to the film. “I can’t imagine he would ever do it, but it’s Hollywood, so never say it’ll never happen,” Duggan said at the time.
