Vikrant Massey to reunite with Ekta R. Kapoor in Ranjan Chandel’s next film: Report: Bollywood News
Recently, Pinkvilla exclusively reported that Vikrant Massey has officially signed on to Ekta R. Kapoor’s ambitious project. The project is a gripping political thriller inspired by a shocking true story from the early 2000s that shocked the nation and reshaped the country’s political landscape. Renowned director Ranjan Chander, known for his work in the acclaimed digital his series ‘Grahan’, will be helming the project.
Despite much debate over the years surrounding this historic event, no filmmaker has dared to bring it to the silver screen. Known for her fearless approach to storytelling, Ekta R. Kapoor was determined to share this untold story with the world and took the plunge. A source close to the development said, “Ekta R. Kapoor is excited to bring this story to the big screen. There have been several discussions about this episode over the years, but the theme No one had the courage to make a movie about it.”
The script is ready and with Vikrant Massey expressing shock at its intensity during the narration, the political thriller promises to be as shocking as it gets. The script not only inspires Massey creatively, but also captures his desire to once again deliver a powerful, layered performance. Multiple meetings with Vikrant, Ekta and director Ranjan Chander have paved the way for filming to begin in the next few months.
Balaji Motion Pictures, headed by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, will produce the film along with Amr V. Mohan and Anshul Mohan (Vikheel Films). Aseem Arora takes credit for the gripping storyline. While the casting process for other characters is underway, official announcements about the film, the real-life events it’s based on, and the entire cast are just around the corner. Director Ranjan Chander has already started pre-production activities and acting workshops are also expected to begin soon.
