Vidya Balan decorated the opening ceremony of indian express expresso in Mumbai on Friday. In her candid conversation, Vidya spoke at length about her past love life, marriage and early days in the industry. She also revealed how she felt resistance from male actors when it came to sharing screen space due to her successful films like Ishqiya and The Dirty Picture.

Vidya says, “What about in the past?” (rolls eyes) I still don’t think it’s okay for them to star in a Vidya Balan movie or a movie with a female lead. It’s honestly their loss because we make better movies than they do. I believe that with all my heart. They’re making movies that are more formula-based, and movies with female leads are much more exciting. ”

“Of course people are grateful, but male stars are uncomfortable with women taking center stage. I don’t think it’s okay for someone to steal their thunder. But I don’t feel good about it. I never thought that would happen. What would I do if I was threatened? (laughs)
