“I recently received a screenplay offer from a boy under 30. He wrote a screenplay about motherhood. So I asked him what he was going to do, if he had a female co-writer or director. He said, “Well, we would consider a female director, but I think I know one.” I asked him what kind of research he was doing on this. He said, “Actually, I have a mother.” So when I felt like I had to be the smartest person on set and whip everyone to do their job, I said no,” Richa said in an interview. .

Richa also explained why she doesn’t want to be the smartest person on a film set. “How am I going to grow if the person sitting next to me depends on my brain, my intelligence, my personality, my abilities, my talents? It has to work both ways, right?” Richa said in the same interview.

Richa’s upcoming projects

Richa was last seen in Mrigadeep Lamba’s buddy comedy Fukrey 3, which was a box office hit. She also appeared in a cameo role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s mystery novel Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of the Solan Valley. Richa will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Heeramandi, which will be released on Netflix in India. The show will mark a reunion with the maverick filmmaker after 10 years since Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela. Richa recently completed her international debut film ‘Aaina’ with her Indian and British compositions.

Richa is also busy building a production company with her husband, actor Ali Fazal. They will soon release a teaser for a documentary about last year’s wedding. The couple tied the knot after postponing the ceremony several times due to the pandemic.
