Prithviraj Sukumaran collaborates with Prabhas in SALAAR, collides with SRK’s Dhanki, Bollywood project

What new things do you bring to the table this time?
myself? I’m just bringing myself, and I hope you’ll meet a new version of yourself. But ‘Salaar’ is a very exciting film to be a part of. The obvious reasons are that this is a Prashant Neel movie, Prabhas heads the cast, and it’s just a huge, huge movie. On paper it’s a very exciting movie for me. It’s very interesting on a script level. Because when I first heard that director Prashant wanted to pitch me the character of ‘Salar’, I had no idea that it would be a film about two friends and their bond. Body. After doing the iconic KGF series, I never thought he would do a film like this with Prabhas. That was a pleasant surprise, and I think it will surprise the audience in a good way. Because on top of all the epic action, massive sets, and huge production values, it’s an intense and complex drama. The drama within the plot of ‘Salaar’ works really well. Well, I’m very excited. I’m looking forward to seeing how the movie will be received on the 22nd of this month.
The story revolves around two friends whose relationship becomes tumultuous and leads to conflict. What creates a rift between them?
Well, if I say that, what does it mean to the audience watching this movie? That’s what this movie is about.
We have witnessed various portrayals of you in your past films. In this particular movie, your appearance takes on a unique personality, especially with the addition of a nose ring. How relieved are you about this clear change?
Was I comfortable? No, it was very unpleasant. But what struck me most about the styling in this film is that the entire look of the jewelry, clothing, and everything else doesn’t just exist for aesthetic value. Yeah, it’s very cool. But when you watch the movie, you realize that each piece of jewelry has a meaning. What you wear on your wrist has a story. It is very deeply rooted in the history of this fictional place called Kansar. Why are the people there dressed like that? As you can see, a lot of thought has gone into the style of the film, which is quite impressive. Prashant and his team thought about his 1000-year history of this fictional place called Kansar to make this film. It was very impressive. The work I’ve done for this film has really helped me understand Prashant’s vision as much as possible. Even Prashant is not a filmmaker who believes in doing a lot of preparation when it comes to workshops. He doesn’t shoot to storyboards. He’s very instinctive. He discovers the moment while filming on set. And he can afford to do that because he shoots so fast. He’s not a filmmaker who spends a lot of time preparing shots. From the cinematographer Bhuvan to the last art assistant, his team turns things around very quickly. Therefore, my challenges in preparing the character were mainly based on understanding what Prashant saw in the film. I understood Prashant’s thoughts about my character Varadaraja Mannar and added my own interpretation to it.
In a recent interview, you said that Prashant Neel called you his assistant director and admitted that ‘Salar’ would not have happened without your involvement – your comment
your comment on it. he’s just kind. Of course, he is Prashant Neel. He could probably go for any actor in the country. Let’s face it; he’s probably one of the most sought-after movie directors in this country. But my respect for him grew even more when I realized how close and emotional he was to this character. When he sees a character’s face, he really wants that face. As you know, we had to resolve many date issues before we were finally able to run “Salaar”. During those months, Prashant kept telling me, “Just tell me, wait, I’ll move the shoot.” And like I said, Prashant Neel does. I think the reason I was an assistant director was because I was on set and I tried to learn as much as I could, trying to understand how this genius director was making this blockbuster. And you know, when someone creates a world like ‘Kaansal’ and someone writes a script like ‘Salar’, it’s very easy for the audience to read it and come up with a thousand different suggestions. . And yes, we exchanged multiple ideas for films with Prashant and now he has become a really good friend. I keep talking to him about movie ideas. He keeps telling me what he wants to do next and everything else. So, for me, it was a learning experience. Thanks to the experience of ‘Salar’, I have become richer as an actor and a director.
Compatibility with Prabhas
Oh, I mean, I don’t have many friends. I’m not the kind of guy who has a big circle of friends. But Prabhas is definitely someone I consider a friend now. It’s not just me. If you know Prabhas, it’s impossible not to be friends while getting to know him. That’s the kind of man he is. He really puts everyone at ease and does his best to make everyone feel comfortable around him. He’s like I said, he’s one of those big stars who doesn’t realize how big he is. I don’t think he realizes how big of a star he is. It’s very, very easy to work with him because of that kind of attitude.

You had earlier said that director Prabhas needed a film like this after the success of Baahubali and you approached him immediately. Could you please tell me more about the content of the conversation during that call?
You are misrepresenting my statement. I never said that Prabhas needs this kind of film. I told him I would love to see you in this kind of movie. Understood. The first person I called after hearing the narration of ‘Salar’ was Prabhas. And I said to him, the most exciting thing for me was the fact that as a filmmaker, as a director, I’m looking forward to seeing you on this film. Because in Prashant’s narration, I somehow understood his vision. And I was really excited to see Prabhas play Deva in ‘Salar’. Not that Prabhas needed this movie, but I really think movies in general and us fans of big action movies needed to see Prabhas in a movie like this.
Are you excited about the box office clash between ‘Salaar’ and ‘Dunki’?
Before I’m an actor, before I’m a filmmaker, before I’m a producer, distributor, singer, whatever, I’m a movie lover. And as a movie buff, I am very excited about the fact that three of his big movies will be released this festive season, at least in Kerala. There are also Jeethu Joseph-Mohanlal films such as ‘Salaar’, ‘Dunki’ and ‘Neru’. Being a movie buff this holiday season feels like being in a candy store. I’m planning to go see all three movies. I’m so excited about the fact that such an iconic team is producing and releasing such a big movie. And I plan on watching all three. I hope you are too. All three of his films are not to be missed.
Do you have any updates to share about Lucifer 2? We’re all excited to know about it.
I started shooting. I have completed one trip to Ladakh, Delhi and Shimla. Filming will begin in London in January.
Are you planning to make your directorial debut in Bollywood?
I don’t look at my filmography that way. I don’t plan my filmography that way, I’ve never thought of it that way, and I don’t want to direct a Hindi film right now. So right after Lucifer, there were serious discussions from the big studio houses in Bombay to make that movie in Hindi. And at that point I didn’t have time to work on another director’s job. And in fact, the project failed because I said I couldn’t direct it. But I might do it in Hindi someday. I don’t know.
I heard that you will be playing a robot engineer in the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. rajinikanth It was played by a robot, is that true?
It has nothing to do with Rajinikanth sir’s role in ‘Robo’. That’s completely different. It’s a movie I’m really looking forward to. The first teaser of the movie will be released soon. And I think that teaser is going to surprise a lot of people. The scale is quite huge. It’s a very big movie. And it’s great to meet Dr. Akshay Kumar tiger shroff Do what they do in that movie. Because when the audience watches the movie, they see that it’s a very interesting dynamic. And of course, I’m really looking forward to it. This is a work that I had a lot of fun playing with. And Ali Abbas is a great director. Ali and I really hit it off. He is a good friend now. And his vision is amazing. And he did it in a great way. Yes, I’m looking forward to it.
