The Indian film industry is gearing up for this year’s Salar vs Dhanki showdown. The Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani film will star the duo of Prabhas and Prashant Neel. Movie budgets vary widely. While Salar is being made on a budget of Rs 400 million, Dhanki’s production cost is close to Rs 950 million. In fact, this is one of his recent SRK films made on a minimal budget. Trade experts estimate that the conflict could result in a loss of around 30% of business for both films. As of now, Dhanki is ahead of Salar in the Hindi belt. See Salar’s break-even numbers against Danki

Salaar is sold to resellers under NRA. To break even, the company needs to earn a total profit of Rs 80 billion worldwide. According to Track Tollywood, the rights of Salar have been sold in Telangana state for Rs 650 million and a total of Rs 100 million needs to be recovered. I’ve heard stories of manufacturers expecting more money but distributors being skeptical. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh is supposed to collect a total of Rs 150 million. Telugu belt is Prabhas’ favorite zone. From there, Salar will need a total of 250 rupees to break even. Salar is sold for more than Rs 650 crore in other southern states. According to their estimates, he will need nearly 400 crs from South India alone.

Overseas salal business

Salaar appears to be priced at 75 rupees, including advertising printing costs. A total of 15 billion rupees from abroad is needed to revive the business. This number is impressive considering it is competing with the likes of Danki and Aquaman 2. Dhanki was leading in bookings in North India.

Vijay Kiragandur said Hombale Films followed the advice of astrologers and fixed the date as December 21, 2023. Given that Danki had announced it a year ago, many thought they would pick a better date.
