However, there are some exceptional Holi scenes that made the film truly iconic and memorable. On the occasion of this vibrant festival today, let’s take a look at some memorable Holi moments from Bollywood movies.

  1. Mohabbatein
When we talk about Mohabbatein and Holi, what comes to everyone’s mind is the beloved Soni Soni song. But for us, the time when Shah Rukh Khan approached Amitabh Bachchan for a tilak remains the most iconic. After all, two of India’s biggest stars faced off in Aditya Chopra’s 2000 directorial effort.
  2. Goliyon ki rasleela ram leela
Despite not having a single dialogue, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh literally set the screen on fire. Before the start of Lahu Mukh Lag Gaya, the scene where Leela approaches Ram with a handful of gulal marks the couple’s first meeting in the film. This scene also symbolized a shocking love at first sight. After all, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is well known for her epic romances and grand Indian celebrations.
  3. ranjana
Even though the film was released in 2013, we still listen to the title song of Raanjhanaa on loop. It won’t be wrong to say that when young Zoya (Sonam Kapoor) puts color on Kundan’s (Dhanush) face, it makes her go weak in the knees. Honestly, everything about this scene is really adorable. Dhanush’s portrayal of an unrequited lover touches everyone’s heart. We still get a hint of a smile on our faces every time we watch this movie.
  4. padmaavat
No doubt, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor hit the ball with their chemistry on the track in Holi Ai Le Pya Ji. But we get goosebumps when Ranveer Singh reveals his change in strategy during Alauddin Khilji’s essay and seeks peace with the Rajputs. This is when Khilji applied saffron gural on his face, symbolizing diplomacy with the Rajputs and the festival of Holi.
  5. Kabir Singh
Let’s be honest, despite such an intense scene, we were all just glued to our seats. From Kabir Singh (Shahid Kapoor) worrying about Preeti (Kiara Advani) to Preeti running towards the bad guys who applied gulal on her, this scene holds a special place in the hearts of movie buffs. This scene had it all: romance, drama, action, and intense expressions.
