Recently, in an interview with Mashable India, Hashmi revealed that it was at her grandfather’s insistence that she chose the name Farhan before entering the entertainment industry. He said, “I think the credits of my first film called me Farhan Hashmi. I changed my name to Farhan. This was due to numerology and at the insistence of his grandfather. It was a thing.”

He further added, “In order to become an actor, that gentleman advised me to change my name to Farhan. Another option was to make it Emraan, but with an additional ‘A’. and now it is. ” Emraan initially chose Farhan but soon changed back to his original name as the film failed.

“After the first film failed, I changed the name to ‘Emraan’.Then the second film was a hit, so I kept the name ‘Emraan’ with the ‘A’ added. That hit was validated. ,” the actor said. His second release of Emraan was Anurag Basu’s Murder. The film was produced by his uncle Mukesh Bhatt and also starred Mallika Sherawat. As a result of this incident, the actor was labeled as a “serial kisser.”

Emraan was last seen in Tiger 3 opposite Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Next, he will appear in the “Dincy Plus Hotstar” series “Showtime.” The show, directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, is touted to be an “epic story of legacy and ambition in cinema”.
