Director Aditya Dhar says the budget for ‘The Immortal Aswatthama’ is ‘too big’ for an Indian film: ‘The VFX we were looking for…’ Bollywood News

For filmmaker Aditya Dhar, who had aspired to make an ambitious mythological superhero action film, The Immortal Aswatthama, that sacrifice meant the team realized it would be impossible to realize the vision they had in mind. After releasing the blockbuster ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, Mr. Dhar released ‘Immortal Aswatthama’. However, the project continued to be delayed and eventually shelved due to budget constraints.

During the trailer launch of his latest film ‘Article 370’, director Aditya Dhar was asked to share an update about his ambitious film ‘The Immortal Aswatthama’.

Dhar said, “We’re putting that on the back burner for now. To be honest, the vision we all had was too big to work in an Indian film. The kind of VFX quality we were looking for was… , no one here was even aiming for that.”

The filmmaker said he’ll have to wait and see until the technology becomes affordable or more movie theaters open in the country so more people can watch movies.

“Director James Cameron, for example, thought of Avatar 27 years ago, but he waited for the market to grow and the technology to get to a level where he could actually present it. Of course, I He’s not, but if you have to achieve excellence, you can’t be mediocre. It’s too late. The movie has to be great, even if it takes five years of its prime. yeah.

“Once a film is made, it remains for posterity. There can be no mediocrity. There can be no intention to just make money. We must strive for excellence. “I truly believe that we have a huge responsibility to represent ourselves in a way that we can,” he added.

Set in the backdrop of Article 370, the film is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambale and stars Yami Gautam and Priyamani. It is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar. The movie will be released on February 23rd.
