Bhumi Pednekar talks about preparing for Bakshak: I was sad that my research material turned out to be someone else’s reality : Bollywood News

Bhumi Pednekar’s latest project, Bakushaku‘ will be released on Netflix today, February 9th. For those who aren’t familiar, Bhoomi plays a local reporter in Bihar who tries to expose a sexual abuse case at a girls’ shelter. While speaking about the project, Bhumi in an interview with PTI said that watching the Netflix movie made her question her ‘numbness’.

The actress declared, “I don’t think I’ll ever recover from this situation.” Bakushaku Because it’s about what’s actually happening among young children in society. This is not specific to any particular region of India and could be happening anywhere around us. It can be overwhelming, make you angry, and make you wonder what you’re doing about it. ”

Further sharing her thoughts, she added: “I was sad that my research material for the film was someone’s reality…What we see[in the film]is how many children live in shelters. The hard truth is, they didn’t do that.”

As the conversation progressed further, Bhumi also talked about doing films based on issues. She explained: “I’ve always had a lot of activism within me because I’m very passionate about things. And art is a way to express what I believe in. I’m also very passionate about things. I feel like I’ve done really well with movies like this.”

Produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma, it will be helmed by Pulkit. Besides Pednekar, the film also stars Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava and Sai Tamhankar.
